Toowoomba Kart Club
Toowoomba Kart Club joined AKRA in 2017 after 2 of their long standing members Ralph Van Doorn and John McCleverty were given lengthy bans from KA.
KA requested that the Toowoomba Kart Club not allow these two members to become part of the committee and after a Club meeting the members agreed that it was wrong for KA to dictate such a request and the Club Members stood firmly and gave support to their 2 members and chose to break away from KA.
TKC joined AKRA early 2017 giving the club the opportunity to run classes that they saw fit for their members including older engines and newer models together at weights that suited the club.
Now there is talk of using harder tyres again as the club has the power to choose what ever tyre they see fit for their club under the AKRA banner.
After a full years of successful race meetings with strong entries growing monthly topping with 91 entries last meeting in Nov 2017 the clubs financial position is once again improving and the Club looks forward to hosting the 2018 AKRA Austrlian Championships for us Club Karters of Australia in October.
