Ok guys and girls
Todays update - now I'll keep it pretty simple cause it is.
- KA are a promotor of karting - they don't own it
- So there is no reason why we can't do our own thing
- Now this is for the majority of us who are grass roots karters and a limited racing budget
- I've spoken to insurance brokers today and getting our own insurance is do-able like i did in the past with our own private karting days
We start a new name and structure of details we can sort out later.
I would propose that the rules and weights stay the same (ie:based on 2014 rules) as we know them so J's and Clubman engines don't die and us fat drivers can still race competitively and race dates similar to what we know.
As for a new class for newbie's to the sport
Has to be cheapest we can get and that obviously is a 4-stroke Honda or similar
Now that would be very simple, easy and reliable.
It's a $500-$600 engine max, at end of year don't rebuild just buy another, simple, easy
People can buy a second hand rolling chassis for $500-$1,000
so for $1,000 - $2,000 tops they are racing
this opens up our sport to more people and growth - surely its obvious
I'm sorry that it doesn't fix the people who pay stupid money for engines but they are the minority in out sport - so lets worry about the majority.
We can still have our state titles as we have in the past
the nationals as we know it
the calender how we like it
the racers can afford this - you don't need a $80,000 - $100,000 budget to travel all around Australia 11 months of the year
What we need is the kart tracks and clubs who are interested in this break away group- to put up their hands - and say yes
tell me how many members your club has
and that you are interested in all this new group
please pass this around to every club president or appropriate person you know
as the window of opportunity is now
and the more clubs and people that band together on this the stronger we are and will give us all a better outcome and cheaper insurance
ie cheaper licenses.
People this is very doable and as a National Group so much more beneficial for us.
who still has a rule book from mid 90's - like another post on here the numbers were best then so lets just copy something similar to that.
In those days at club events in NSW we would get upto 300 entries and forced clubs to go to 2 day events..............cool
I dont want to reinvent the wheel just copy something similar that worked best and get karting strong and fun again.
maybe i'm wrong but It doesn't look like as much fun like we had in the past
let the professional karter and big budget racer do their KA racing and we can do our fun racing our way
Feel free to share your thoughts people as this is for us the majority of karters
lets band together and make this happen
