Why AKRA

About Us

Why AKRA?

• Simple – you the Club Karters asked for it
• A simple back to basics formula - that has proven to work and allows a more cost effective approach and more enjoyment for Club Karters.
• It signals a more effective approach to the participation, management, staging and promotion of Club Karting in Australia.

• AKRA has been structured to avoid large overheads – no buildings or shops to buy and its approach is one of being “lean and mean”. It aims to be cost efficient for itself, all its members and classes, suppliers of goods and services in the industry and Australian Karting in general, while reducing the costs faced by those who participate in Club Karting at all levels.

• AKRA has been established to be a service organisation to Karting in Australia.
Such a service will be provided by avoiding red tape and unnecessary waste of time issues that crop up and just delay proceedings.

• AKRA is run by long time Karters with many years’ experience (started in the 1980's) and being advised by other long time Karters with even more experience and all for us Karters – simple formula really

• AKRA has arranged cost effective insurance. These insurances are provided by Transwest Insurance Brokers who have more than 10 years’ experience with Insurance for Karters in Australia. This allows karters to get their Kart License at a cost that is that much more affordable that the other organizations.
There are no staff wages of $750,000 here.
We are a bunch of very passionate Karters wanting our hobby back and to be in control again.

• AKRA is dedicated to the development of cost effective, simple, social and fun Karting in Australia.
• Members of AKRA will have substantial benefits in Licensing Fees and General Costs of going Kart Racing and will automatically keep the Karting Industry in Australia active and share this more evenly than other groups. The discontent of just one or two people/companies receiving all the monetory benefits from new rule changes in the past few years has been abolished with AKRA’s new rules - that any Kart Club is welcome to follow.

• AKRA is a new promotor in Australian Karting and for us Club Racers who feel that they have been forgotten about or have been ignored, This is the solution for you and your Club
*  Lets not waste the opportunity and any more time being told what we should do

*  Get your club to join up now, our clubs of Australia already know how to run/organise  race meetings, we don't need to be told how to do that. What we want is rules that we like and are fair for the majority, race karts and engines we already have, on harder tyres that last a dame good while, so we can go and have some fun playing with our toys and enjoying the day and a beer at the end with mates.

Lets go have some fun peoples
